“Chor Machaye Shor,” NC MLAs Taunt BJP in J&K Assembly
Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly on Thursday witnessed noisy scenes after the Speaker disallowed an adjournment motion moved by BJP members seeking discussion on the rehabilitation and compensation of flood victims.
BJP legislators accused the Chair of “deliberately disallowing” their resolution on flood relief and rehabilitation. The Speaker clarified that the motion would be taken up after the Question Hour, but his assurance failed to calm the agitated members.
The House soon descended into chaos as BJP MLAs raised slogans in protest. The commotion escalated when several National Conference (NC) legislators joined in, shouting “Chor Machaye Shor,” leading to pandemonium before order was eventually restored and proceedings resumed.
