Ahead of Republic Day 2026, the Government of India has launched a contest to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the song “Vande Mataram” and promote the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat. The contest aims to engage citizens across the country in celebrating India’s cultural heritage and self-reliant spirit.

Participants will be invited to submit creative entries highlighting the significance of Vande Mataram and the ideals of self-reliance in various formats, including essays, artwork, and digital media. The initiative seeks to inspire citizens, especially the youth, to reflect on India’s journey and achievements.

Officials said the contest is part of broader Republic Day celebrations and will provide a platform for individuals to showcase talent while connecting with the nation’s rich history. Winners will be recognised at official events and through digital platforms to encourage widespread participation.

The government has emphasised that the contest aligns with efforts to strengthen national pride, cultural awareness, and the values of Atmanirbhar Bharat, ensuring active public engagement ahead of the 2026 Republic Day celebrations.
