Mumbai: Ahead of the release of Rashmika Mandanna’s much-awaited film The Girlfriend on Friday, her rumoured beau Vijay Deverakonda has lauded the team for creating something powerful and impactful.
Sharing his thoughts on social media, the Arjun Reddy star wrote, “I know they have made something powerful. Something important. Something that will be hard to digest. The performances by all the actors are top-class, and what @23_rahulr has created with @iamRashmika, @Dheekshiths, and @ItsAnuEmmanuel is going to create an impact.”
Encouraging fans to watch the film, he added, “Tomorrow we will all see this happen with #TheGirlfriend. Go experience it in theaters and think. Lots of love and big hugs to the entire cast and crew.”
Meanwhile, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has cleared Rahul Ravindran’s directorial for release with a U/A certificate.
Confirming the news, production house Geetha Arts posted on social media, “It is a U/A for #TheGirlfriend. Experience intense drama, relatable emotions, and stellar performances on the big screen. Grand Release Worldwide Tomorrow.”
Earlier, Rashmika had expressed her complete faith in director Rahul Ravindran and the film. Wishing him on his birthday, the Pushpa actress wrote, “You are too precious, my friend. I still can’t believe you’ve made a film like The Girlfriend. The emotional depth and the goodness in your heart flow through every frame. I met you for The Girlfriend and found a director, a friend, a mentor, and a partner in crime for life whom I trust wholly and immensely.”
Written and directed by Rahul Ravindran, The Girlfriend features music by Hesham Abdul Wahab and cinematography by Krishnan Vasant.
If reports are to be believed, Rashmika and Vijay are already engaged and are likely to tie the knot next year, although the couple has not made any official announcement yet.
