Vivo Brings OriginOS 6 to Global Markets, Including India
Vivo is finally rolling out its much-anticipated OriginOS 6 to regions outside China, including India, promising a cleaner, faster, and more refined user experience.
The new update marks a major shift as Vivo phases out its long-running Funtouch OS in favor of the China-exclusive OriginOS platform for global users. Both Vivo and iQOO devices will now feature OriginOS 6 across their latest and current models.
The Vivo X300 series and iQOO 15 will ship with OriginOS 6 out of the box, while the Vivo X200 lineup and iQOO 13 are currently testing beta versions.
Refreshed Design and Performance
The first thing users will notice is the “Liquid Glass” interface, giving the OS a sleek and fluid look inspired by Apple’s design aesthetics. Beyond visuals, Vivo promises enhanced system stability, optimized battery life, and a set of new AI-powered features.
Official teasers reveal that the global version stays true to the Chinese firmware’s design but includes the Google Android suite pre-installed—something missing in China’s edition.
Vivo says the updated OS makes better use of hardware resources, with app launch speeds up to 11% faster, smoother animations, and more responsive touch inputs. The company also touts improved power management, reducing background activity to extend battery life.
AI Features and Smart Tools
OriginOS 6 introduces several smart utilities. Users can now remove unwanted objects from Live Photos directly in the gallery and make use of an AI-powered memory hub for note-taking and organization—features reminiscent of OnePlus’ Mind Space and Nothing’s Essential Space.
With its blend of visual refinement, performance gains, and thoughtful AI additions, OriginOS 6 is shaping up to be Vivo’s most polished software update yet.
