NEW DELHI: Debt-laden Vodafone Idea on Thursday reported a widening of its consolidated loss to Rs 6,608 crore for the first quarter ended June 30, 2025, primarily due to higher finance costs.

The company had recorded a loss of Rs 6,426.7 crore during the same period last year, according to an exchange filing.

Revenue from operations rose nearly 5% to Rs 11,022.5 crore in the quarter under review, up from Rs 10,508.3 crore a year earlier, driven largely by an increase in average revenue per user (ARPU).

VIL’s ARPU climbed 15% year-on-year to Rs 177, up from Rs 154 in the June 2024 quarter.

As of June 30, 2025, Vodafone Idea’s outstanding debt from banks, including accrued but unpaid interest, stood at Rs 1,944.5 crore. Its deferred payment obligations for spectrum and adjusted gross revenue, including interest accrued but not due, totaled Rs 1,99,140.3 crore, the filing added.
