KISHTWAR: A week-long National Workshop on Communication Skills & Personality Development commenced in Govt. Degree College Kishtwar, the other day. The workshop, organized by the Career Counseling and Guidance Cell of the College in collaboration with the Indian Army, aims to enhance the communication skills and personality development of college students and educators.
The workshop saw the participation of approximately 200 college students from different semesters, along with 60 teachers and lecturers from the School Education Department, and faculty members from the Higher Education Department.
The inaugural session of the National Workshop was graced by the presence of Dr. Devansh Yadav, District Development Commissioner of Kishtwar, as the Chief Guest.
Khalil Poswal, SSP Kishtwar, attended the event as the Guest of Honour.
In his address, the Chief Guest emphasised the significance of communication skills for personality development and its crucial role in cracking competitive examinations.
The SSP highlighted the importance of communication and listening skills as an integral part of the curriculum.
The special guest and resource person for this prestigious workshop was Prof. (Dr.) Jagriti Upadayaya, a senior Professor from Sardar Patel University of Police, Security and Criminal Justice, Jodhpur, Rajasthan.
Earlier, the College Principal, Prof. Jyoti Parihar, delivered the welcome address.
It is worth mentioning that Prof. Jagriti Upadayaya has been honored with seven gold medals and numerous prestigious awards, including an award from the former Prime Minister of India.
This marks the first time that Degree College Kishtwar has organized a seven-day national workshop of this magnitude, involving teachers from the School Education Department.
The workshop will consist of two daily sessions: a morning session for students and an afternoon session for teachers, lecturers, and faculty members of the Higher Education Department.
The inaugural session witnessed the presence of esteemed personalities such as Prof. Umar Din Rather, Prof. Tariq Hussain, Prof. Falak, Prof. Sarita Parihar, Prof. Romana Akhter, Prof. Vijay Kumar, Prof. Ajay Kumar, Prof. Randeep, Prof. Sonika Sen, Dr. Sehrish Gazal, Prof. Madhu Bala, Prof. Madu Ram, along with representatives from the Indian Army.
