NEW DELHI: WhatsApp has introduced a new ‘Safety Overview’ feature to strengthen its efforts against scams and fraud. This feature alerts users when they are added to a WhatsApp group by someone not in their contacts, especially if the group seems unfamiliar.
The safety overview provides key details about the group, along with safety tips.
“You can exit the group without opening the chat. However, if the group looks familiar after viewing the safety overview, you can choose to open the chat for more context,” WhatsApp said.
