Jammu: Lieutenant General P. K. Mishra, General Officer Commanding (GoC) of the White Knight Corps, visited the Basantgarh hills in Jammu and Kashmir’s Udhampur district on Thursday to assess the security arrangements in the militancy-affected mountainous region.
During the visit, he interacted with troops deployed in the area and lauded their exceptional dedication and professionalism in maintaining peace and security.
“GoC White Knight Corps, along with GoC Delta Force, visited Basantgarh to review the security mechanism and commended the Delta Force troops for their outstanding commitment and devotion to duty,” the White Knight Corps stated in a post on X.
Lieutenant General Mishra stressed the importance of maintaining a proactive operational posture, leveraging modern tactics, and upholding the highest standards of professionalism in all security operations.
The Dudu-Basantgarh belt, along with other parts of the Jammu region, has remained under intensified search and anti-terror operations throughout 2025.
Basantgarh has a history of encounters and terror-related incidents. The area lies along a traditional infiltration corridor used by Pakistani terrorists who enter through the International Border in Kathua and move through the higher reaches toward Doda and Kishtwar districts before attempting to infiltrate the Kashmir Valley.
