Kishtwar,: A woman lost her life after being accidentally shot by a Village Defence Guard (VDG) member in the Chatroo area of Kishtwar district late Friday night.
According to sources, the incident took place in Singpura Areagam village. The victim has been identified as 35-year-old Pushpa Devi, wife of Rakesh Kumar, a local resident.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the firing was unintentional. The woman died on the spot due to her injuries, an official confirmed.
Police have initiated an investigation to determine the exact sequence of events that led to the incident.
