SRINAGAR: An awareness program on importance of physical and mental health and well-being was today organized by District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Budgam in collaboration with District Hospital Budgam to observe ‘World Health Day’.
The programme focused on the linkage between legal rights and access to health services, and highlighted the role of health services in legal and social justice, particularly for marginalized groups.
The event was organized under the supervision of O.P Bhagat, Chairman DLSA (Principal District and sessions Judge) Budgam and under the guidance of Nusrat Ali Hakak, Secretary DLSA Budgam.
‘Healthy Beginnings, Hopeful Futures’ was the theme for World Health Day-2025. This year’s theme kicks-off a year-long campaign on maternal and newborn health. This initiative will encourage governments and the healthcare sector to intensify their actions to eliminate preventable maternal and newborn deaths. It will also focus on the long-term health and well-being of women.
The program was graced by the presence of resource persons from DLSA Budgam including Amir and Iqbal Wani, Panel Lawyers DLSA Budgam who highlighted critical issues for global health which underpins lifelong health, stronger communities, and collective future.
The event was attended by healthcare workers, DLSA Staff and community members who were all eager to learn more about the significance subject. Participants were also given practical advice on stress management, coping strategies, and ways to maintain a balanced and healthy mind.
