Lucknow, Nov 28: President Droupadi Murmu on Friday said that the ancient Indian philosophy of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ (the world is one family) has become more relevant than ever in the face of global challenges. She was speaking at the launch of the Brahma Kumaris’ annual theme for 2025–26, titled ‘Meditation for World Unity and Trust’.

The President emphasized that India’s civilisation and cultural heritage have always embodied this timeless principle. In today’s world, marked by uncertainty, stress, mistrust and loneliness, the philosophy offers a message of unity and collective responsibility.

Murmu noted that while humanity is more educated and technologically advanced than ever before, societies continue to grapple with insecurity and fragmentation. She urged people to not only move forward but also to look within themselves for strength and clarity.

The event highlighted the importance of meditation and spiritual practices in fostering trust and unity across communities, reinforcing the relevance of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ in contemporary times.
