Army Commander visits Eastern Ladakh LAC to review operational preparedness

Leh/Jammu: Northern Army Commander Lt Gen Pratik Sharma visited forward areas along the Sino-Indian border in Ladakh to review operational readiness and defence preparedness along the Line of Actual Control (LAC), officials said.

On Thursday, Lt Gen Sharma witnessed ‘Exercise AstraShakti’ conducted in the icy heights of the high-altitude region, showcasing the Northern Command’s preparedness, innovation, and indomitable spirit, they added.

During his visit to forward posts in the Tangtse sector of Eastern Ladakh, the Army Commander was briefed on the prevailing security situation and ongoing developments. He lauded the troops for their unwavering dedication, high state of readiness, and professionalism while operating in harsh terrain and extreme weather conditions.

Officials said the interaction greatly boosted the morale of the soldiers deployed in the region.
