Amritsar (Punjab): The Border Security Force (BSF) continues its relentless efforts to curb cross-border smuggling, intercepting multiple Pakistani drone operations along the Indo-Pak border in Amritsar.
According to an official release, acting on precise intelligence inputs, alert BSF troops on Tuesday recovered a pistol with a magazine from a field near the village of Roranwala Khurd. The weapon, wrapped in yellow adhesive tape and fitted with illuminating strips and a metallic wire loop, bore clear signs of having been dropped by a drone.
In a separate operation, following the detection of drone activity, BSF personnel deployed technical countermeasures and successfully brought down a DJI Mavic 4 Pro drone near the village of Chak Allabaksh.
These recoveries underscore the BSF’s vigilance, use of advanced technology, and unwavering commitment to securing India’s borders and combating cross-border smuggling in Punjab.
Last week, coordinated operations by the BSF and Punjab Police in the border districts of Gurdaspur and Firozpur led to the arrest of a smuggler and the recovery of arms and ammunition.
The joint teams apprehended an Indian smuggler near Dana Mandi in Dera Baba Nanak, Gurdaspur. The accused, a resident of Kahlanwali village, was found in possession of a pistol and six live rounds.
In another intelligence-based operation, BSF troops foiled plans by miscreants to carry out illegal activities near village Maboke in Firozpur. The swift response led to the recovery of 16 live rounds and a kirpan (sword) from the site.
Earlier, on October 22, BSF troops thwarted another cross-border smuggling attempt in Amritsar, recovering a DJI Mavic 3 Classic drone carrying a Glock pistol and two magazines near the village of Nesta.
The BSF’s continued success reflects its strong coordination, rapid response, and advanced surveillance capabilities along the sensitive Punjab border.
