New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended warm Deepavali greetings to the people of India, calling it a festival filled with energy, enthusiasm, and a renewed spirit of righteousness. In a letter to the nation, the Prime Minister highlighted that this year’s celebration marks the second Diwali since the consecration of the grand Ram Temple in Ayodhya.
Reflecting on the teachings of Lord Ram, PM Modi hailed Operation Sindoor, describing it as a modern embodiment of upholding righteousness and avenging injustice.
“Lord Shri Ram teaches us to uphold righteousness and gives us the courage to fight injustice. We witnessed a living example of this a few months ago during Operation Sindoor, when Bharat not only stood for righteousness but also avenged injustice,” he wrote.
The Prime Minister underscored the special significance of this Diwali, noting that lamps will illuminate many districts—including remote areas—where Naxalism and Maoist terrorism have been completely eradicated. He praised those who have renounced violence and joined the national mainstream, calling it a “major achievement” for the country.
“For the first time, lamps will be lit in districts where Naxalism and Maoist terrorism have been rooted out. Many people who once walked the path of violence are now embracing the Constitution and development. This is a major success for our nation,” the letter read.
PM Modi also highlighted recent next-generation economic reforms, including the reduction of GST rates on the first day of Navratri under the “GST Bachat Utsav,” which has resulted in significant savings for citizens.
“Amid these historic achievements, Bharat has also embarked on major reforms. Citizens are saving thousands of crores during this ‘GST Bachat Utsav.’ In a world facing multiple crises, Bharat stands as a beacon of stability and sensitivity and is on track to become the third-largest economy soon,” he stated.
Concluding his message, the Prime Minister urged citizens to actively contribute to building a ‘Viksit Bharat’ (Developed India) and an ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ (Self-Reliant India) by embracing Swadeshi (local) products and fulfilling their civic duties.
“Our foremost duty as citizens is to contribute to a Viksit and Aatmanirbhar Bharat. Let us adopt Swadeshi products and proudly say, ‘This is Swadeshi!’ Let us uphold the spirit of ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat,’ respect all languages, maintain cleanliness, prioritize health, reduce oil consumption by 10%, and embrace Yoga. These small yet powerful steps will move us swiftly toward a developed India,” the Prime Minister concluded.
