JMC Commissioner conducts extensive tour of Greater Kailash, reviews civic infrastructure

JAMMU: Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), Dr. Devansh Yadav, today conducted an extensive tour of Ward No. 68 — Greater Kailash, one of the prominent and rapidly developing localities within the city’s municipal limits.

During the tour, Dr. Yadav inspected key locations including the Greater Kailash Shiv Mandir, Fountain Chowk, Jalochak Basti, Greater Kailash Park, and Royal Avenue to assess the condition of civic infrastructure and identify areas requiring developmental attention.

Members of the Greater Kailash Residents Welfare Society, along with local residents, met the Commissioner and highlighted several civic concerns. They sought improvement in civic amenities, such as renovation and beautification of the pond near Shiv Mandir, completion of the Nallah work to ensure proper drainage and prevent waterlogging, laying of new lanes and drains in Jalochak Basti for better sanitation and connectivity, repair of the boundary wall at Greater Kailash Park, and completion of pending works in Royal Avenue.

Dr. Yadav patiently heard the residents’ issues and assured them that their concerns would be addressed on priority. He emphasized that JMC is committed to ensuring equitable and sustainable development across all municipal areas. He further directed the concerned officers to prepare detailed estimates for pending developmental works to ensure their timely completion.

Highlighting the importance of community engagement, Dr. Yadav said that active public participation is essential in building a clean, inclusive, and well-developed city.

The Commissioner was accompanied by Health Officer JMC, Dr. Vinod Sharma; Executive Engineer Division 5, Er. Yasir Bashir Kitchloo; Chief Transport Officer, S. Dharamveer Singh; and Sanitation Officer, Parshotam Kumar.
