New Delhi: Eyewear giant Lenskart is preparing to launch its first AI-powered smart glasses by the end of December, marking a major step in its transformation into a technology-led lifestyle brand, according to people familiar with the development.

Internally known as “B by Lenskart Smartglasses”, the device is expected to feature AI-driven interactions, health and wellness tracking, and even UPI payment functionality.

Built on Gemini 2.5, the smart glasses are likely to debut shortly after Lenskart’s stock market listing on November 10. Pricing details are still being finalised, the sources said.

“The smart glasses aim to blend AI and commerce into everyday eyewear — turning glasses into tools for interaction, information, and convenience,” said one of the people cited above.

The device is reportedly powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon AR1 Gen 1 platform, designed for lightweight AR applications and on-device AI processing.

This aligns with Lenskart’s strategic partnership with Qualcomm, announced at the Snapdragon for India XR Day in July 2025, where both companies pledged to co-develop AR and AI solutions for Indian consumers.

Lenskart has not yet responded to queries on the development.

The company’s parent, Lenskart Solutions, launched a ₹7,278 crore public offer on October 31, valuing it at nearly ₹70,000 crore ($8 billion). The issue was fully subscribed on the first day and will close on November 4.

Over the past year, Lenskart has invested in several AI, XR, and computer vision startups, strengthening its technology capabilities as it evolves beyond traditional eyewear retail. The initiative is part of a broader push to transform Lenskart into a “vision-tech ecosystem brand.”

If successful, Lenskart would be among the first Indian consumer tech companies to commercialise AI-powered eyewear, competing with global offerings like Meta-Ray-Ban Smart Glasses and Amazon Echo Frames, but designed and priced specifically for Indian consumers, the people added.
