JAMMU: A police constable sustained serious injuries on Saturday when his service rifle accidentally discharged near the Jammu railway station, officials said.
Selection Grade Constable Showkat Ahmad was on duty at the station around 8:30 a.m. when the rifle went off, striking him in the abdomen, they added.
His colleagues immediately rushed him to the Government Medical College (GMC) Hospital for treatment.
