Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India]: Bollywood actress Sonal Chauhan has officially joined the cast of the much-awaited ‘Mirzapur: The Film’.

Created by Puneet Krishna and directed by Gurmmeet Singh, the film will bring back some of the most beloved characters from the hit franchise — including Kaleen Bhaiya (Pankaj Tripathi), Guddu Pandit (Ali Fazal), and Munna Tripathi (Divyenndu).

Sonal shared the news on Instagram, posting a heartfelt handwritten note from the makers of Mirzapur welcoming her to the team.

Expressing her excitement, the Jannat actress wrote,

“Still sinking in. So glad to be a part of a journey so incredible and game-changing. I’m immensely excited to join Mirzapur: The Film, and I can’t wait for you all to see what we have to unpack on screen.”

She also thanked the creators for the opportunity, adding,

“Thank you Ritesh Sidhwani, Farhan Akhtar, Gurmmeet Singh, and Excel Movies for bringing me into the world of Mirzapur. I’m thrilled to be part of this iconic project.”

Slated for a theatrical release in 2026, Mirzapur: The Film is set to expand the gritty and gripping universe that has captivated millions.

Actor Abhishek Banerjee will also return, reprising his role as the mysterious Compounder.

Following its theatrical run, the movie will stream on Prime Video in India and across 240+ countries and territories, eight weeks after release.

The announcement comes on the heels of the success of Mirzapur Season 3, which premiered in July and reignited fan nostalgia — particularly for Munna Bhai — heightening anticipation for the upcoming film.
