SRINAGAR: Speaker of the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly, Abdul Rahim Rather, on Thursday strongly criticized the Kupwara district administration for failing to include the name of former Langate MLA, Muhammad Sultan Panditpori, in the Assembly’s obituary references.
Calling the oversight “an irresponsible attitude,” the Speaker noted that the district administration had neglected to inform the Assembly Secretariat about Panditpori’s passing. He emphasized that prompt communication from local authorities is essential for ensuring proper official procedures.
The omission also drew attention from several legislators, who echoed the Speaker’s concerns and expressed disapproval of the Kupwara administration’s lapse.
