Jammu: A joint team comprising officers from various security and intelligence agencies on Monday visited the Border Outpost Octroi along the International Border in Jammu to review the existing infrastructure and technological systems in place for effective border monitoring, an official spokesperson said.

The visit, organised by the Border Security Force (BSF) in the Suchetgarh sector, was part of the ongoing Civil-Military Fusion Capsule being conducted in the Jammu region, he said.

The exercise aimed to give participants an in-depth understanding of the BSF’s multifaceted role in border guarding, management, and coordination with other security agencies.

Participants included officers from the Army, BSF, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Intelligence Bureau (IB), and Jammu and Kashmir Police.

During the visit, BSF officials delivered an operational briefing outlining the force’s responsibilities in border surveillance, anti-infiltration operations, and management of issues affecting border populations.

The visit served as an important platform for inter-agency learning and collaboration, enabling participants to better appreciate the complexities and challenges of managing borders in a sensitive and dynamic security environment, the spokesperson added.

He said the exercise also underscored the need for sustained cooperation and seamless coordination among all stakeholders to ensure peace and stability in border areas.

Highlighting the broader goals of the Civil-Military Fusion Capsule, the initiative aimed to promote mutual understanding, synergy, and institutional collaboration among the civil administration, security forces, and intelligence agencies.

The participants commended the BSF for its professionalism, operational preparedness, and vital role in safeguarding the nation’s borders, he said.

The Civil-Military Fusion Capsule began on October 15 and will conclude on October 29.
