Justice Rajnesh Oswal Reviews Judicial Infrastructure Projects in Kathua; Stresses Timely Completion

KATHUA: Justice Rajnesh Oswal, Judge of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh and Administrative Judge for District Kathua, today conducted an extensive inspection and review of the ongoing judicial infrastructure projects across the district.

Justice Oswal began his visit from Hiranagar, where he inspected the under-construction Court Complex and assessed the pace of work. He directed the executing agency to accelerate the remaining construction and ensure timely completion of the project. He was received by Principal District Judge Kathua, Jatinder Singh Jamwal, Munsiff Hiranagar, and members of the Bar Association. MLA Hiranagar Vijay Kumar Sharma, SDM Hiranagar, and officials of the executing agency also briefed the visiting dignitary on the project’s progress.

At Kathua, Justice Oswal interacted with the concerned Executive Engineers and officials from the J&K Housing Board to review the progress of judicial infrastructure projects at Billawar, Basohli, Mahanpur, and the new District Court Complex. He emphasized the need for speedy completion of the Lawyers’ Chambers block and directed all executing agencies to expedite their work to avoid delays.

During the visit, Deputy Commissioner Kathua Rajesh Sharma and Senior Superintendent of Police Mohita Sharma also called on Justice Oswal.

Later, Justice Oswal held a meeting with the Bar Association Kathua, where President Y.C. Katoch presented a charter of demands on behalf of the lawyer fraternity. Justice Oswal assured that all genuine concerns would be duly considered.

He also reviewed facilities at the District Court Complex Kathua and stressed the importance of creating adequate infrastructure to cater to the needs of litigants and lawyers. In separate meetings at Kathua and Hiranagar, he urged judicial officers to work with dedication and ensure prompt disposal of cases, with special focus on clearing old pending matters.

Justice Oswal’s visit, marked by detailed inspections and meaningful interactions, reinforced the commitment to strengthening and modernizing judicial infrastructure in Kathua district.
