Satish Sharma conducts extensive development tour of Chhamb Constituency; lays foundation stones, inaugurates multiple projects
JAMMU: Minister for Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Transport, Information Technology, Youth Services and Sports, Satish Sharma yesterday undertook a comprehensive development tour of Chhamb Constituency, during which he inaugurated and laid foundation stones for several public welfare and infrastructure projects aimed at strengthening local amenities and fostering inclusive growth.
During the visit, the Minister inaugurated macadamization works at Mohalla Bodh Raj and Gajuban, besides the enhancement of Shmashan Ghat near Mata Mandir Dhaleri. He also laid the foundation stone for a Guest House near the BDO Office, Khour, to facilitate visiting officials and the general public.
Satish Sharma further inaugurated the construction of a lane and drain at Rakh Malal and laid the foundation stone for a Community Hall at Jai Baba Kaliveer Dev Sathan, Mattoo, reaffirming the Government’s commitment to equitable development across all regions.
Addressing the gathering, the Minister emphasized the Government’s focus on balanced, need-based development in both rural and urban areas. He said these initiatives are part of a broader strategy to improve civic infrastructure, enhance public convenience, and promote community participation in the developmental process.
During interactions with locals and officials, Sharma directed departments to ensure timely completion of ongoing projects with strict adherence to quality standards.
Later, the Minister presided over a Public Darbar at Mattoo village, where he listened to public issues and grievances, assuring prompt and appropriate action for their redressal.
Senior officers from the district administration and concerned departments accompanied the Minister during the tour.
